have you been successfull with the use of a rocker arm stud mounted spring compressor and the air tool (mentioned in link below) with the heads on and engine under the hood?

i found these tools on ls1tech today and was curious if anyone here had success with them...

i did mine last week with the heads on...

I used that tool and no air compressor

Worked like a charm
