Was originally gonna pick up a LS1, but then I saw this Long Block 355 LT1 package and just wondered what ya guys thought

Im figuring the setup is good for high 11's w/ full exhaust n intake. Just pick up a high miled LT1 and put it in

I think that would be a great way to go.
I am biased to LT1s but look at it realistically, for what it will cost to buy a decent LS1 car you can purchase a used Fbody and this Longblock and with a little work (which is a bonus in my opinion because spinning wrenches on it makes it yours) you have a low 12 high 11 second car.
I give the LS1 cars props all the time, they are great motors.
I still own an LT1 though.

Yea Ive driven both and owned both. Just bang for the buck wise I think this is the way to go, plus the engine will be ready to go forced if i plan to do that in the future....Whats usually the going price for them to swap this engine in, just so I know if I getting robbed or not.
It varies with different shops but the one I trust was asking about 800 to 1000 to pull the old motor and swap the intake and stuff to a new longblock and install it all.
If you have the place and the tools to do it yourself you can save alot of money.
