Anyone run just straight pipes

I was wondering if anyone has run just 3" stainless from headers and out the back? No mufflers or H or X pipe just straight pipes, or would this sound like a truck? I don't have to pass emissions and did not know if anyone had done this.

Man, I'd be able to hear ya here in Indianapolis. You sure you want that loud? at least get two bullets.

I think that would sound like ****!!! Might be better to go straight pipe all the way out, and put a dynomax bullet muffler in the I pipe. After all a little back pressure won't hurt ya.

I figured it would sound kind of bad. I was not sure if it would sound like a cut out or like the million trucks around here.

It would sound MUCH better if you put an x-pipe in there with some bullet mufflers. The mufflers are straight through so they won't hurt horsepower any.

str8 pipes?

ive got duals coming out the back on mine, with 2 dynomax bullets mounted right before the rear bumper.sounds like armageddon on wheels, but i think true str8s would get unbearable in a hurry, especially if they do not go all the way out.but maybe im just gettin old.

All I did to mine before I bought a catback was cut off the stock muffler. I liked it for about a year, then it got annoying.

I cut the muffler off my stock exhaust and just ran it out the back which sounds great.
I'm putting some jet hott LTs on and thinking about running true duals with only turbos and dropping the exhaust right before the rear end.
There a guy here KMOOK that has the set I'm talking about and he has and audio clip. The car sounds great.

There's a huge variation in taste. What sounds like s**t to one person may sound great to another. But good or bad in terms of sound quality, straight pipes would be painfully loud to most people's ears. I like a healthy exhaust sound, but I got tired of running a Borla with the big plate (running through cats) pretty quickly. It was just too loud.
