Anyone remove rotor from opti when going to LTCC/Delteq?

Just wondering if there would be any ill effects from yanking out the rotor from the cap now that I am not using it to send any spark anywhere. I know it wont effect how it runs, but ive heard of the rotors grenading at high rpms and this would get rid of that chance occurence. My only question is if the rotor is used structurally to hold the optical disk or anything like that together.

Yes, the rotor holds the optical disc to the center shaft. I initially cut mine down to the base:

Upon further consideration, I don't think this is the best route to take. With the rotor officially rendered "wingless," there just isn't enough meat left in it to put my mind at ease that it'll still have enough structural integrity to remain in one piece and keep the optical disc from fluttering at high rpm's. I think I may just take what's left of the rotor to a machine shop and have them make a thicker gauge aluminum disc to put in it's place.

25,000 miles and still spinning free. Why open up a can of worms when you don't have to. Are you bored? I just pulled the wires off the opti and the Delteq does the rest.
