Anybody in CA pass smog in last year (now with dyno test) with a GM's hot cam installed?

 

I don't know anybody lately that's passed...I've passed with a CC305 a few years back on the dyno test (with flying colors on a stock tune too.)

 

Not sure how much different cali is from jersey but I know for sure the LT4 and cc305 have no problems passing here

 

That is a great question. I was quite surprised when they hooked my
car up via the OBD connector last time. The time before (two years
ago) they did not hook up. For CA all emmissions stuff is probably
checked out, as well as the dyno test.

I have another year before smog is required and only hope that I will
pass when the time comes. The Crane 227 is such a tiny cam that it
should be no problem. I have heard of hotcam cars passing in CA though.
Try a search on the impala ss board.

 

I don't know how that cam compares to mine (see sig below), but it passed with flying colors a month ago.

 

The 114* LSA helps tremendously with emissions, and your cam is larger than both the hot cam and CC305.

 

I have the CC 503 (224/230 w/ 112 LSA) in a 355ci and P&P heads and Madz28's tuning. I passed last month with flying colors
