anyone not happy with XE236/242

i put down 380 rwhp with this cam& tuning (expected 400+), my best 1/4mile has been 12.7 @112 w/ 1.9 60'. most of my runs are 13.0. i dont get it.. a guy with mild ported lt1 heads and that gm847 cam went 12.1 @117 w/ 1.9 60' with stock bottom end. i saw a guy at the dyno put down 399rwhp with the 230/236. everythibng in my car is working perfectly. just wondering if anyone else is disapointed with this cam.

You appear to be running a larger than stock displacement motor, so that's going to reduce the effect of the cam somewhat.

Also, are you running on stock heads? *scratch that, I see AFR195's...

A member of my car club just ran 12.3s with a 224/230 XE cam with a set of stock LT1 heads ported by Lloyd Elliot with big valves. He's still working on some tuning issues though so he's pretty sure there's more left in it.

Some cams do really well on stock heads, and some seem to need ported heads.

I've got the cam. I'm not totally sure about it yet. Dyno numbers are in my sign.

the reason for my post is im really thinking about swaping it out for a 847 cam or a cmotosports custom grind 600lift cam. i also want to pull my heads this winter and get them hand ported by lloyd or someone. i did have them flowed before i put them on and the cnc port flowed 275cfm @.600

i was seriously thinking about this cam (236 242 on a 111) but i think im going to go 233 239 on a 110 from cmotorsports.

my buddy has a 230 236 on a 112 i dont think its quite enough for me.

i would think you should have gotten more out of it than that.

how does that cam sound.

sorry i wasnt much help.

I made 378rwhp with an XE 230/236 through a 3200 stall and 700R4. The dyno guys said thats about 400rwhp through a T56.

Got any dyno sheets with a/f ratio data?
Got any datamaster logs?
Can any of us see the bin file?

Yeah, STD or SAE correction factors too, air temp and so on, we like to know it all when we see high numbers.
