anyone have problems w/ water jacket leaks when using ARP studs?
Re: anyone have problems w/ water jacket leaks when using ARP studs?
The TTY thing has been hashed out before, sometime during LT1 production the bolts CHANGED, it seems that the probably break point is 96 and later a TTY earlier is not standard head bolts.
The leakage with studs has nothing to do with TTY or not it is purely a bolts vs. studs thing and has been ongoing since before the LT1 was built.
I would like to say again I would discourage swapping fasteners types after the block is machined.

depends on the use of the car. The guys with garage queen Impala SS have lots of trouble with heater cores plugging, those of us who drive our cars don't.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to answer my post.
Im going to invest the $80 and just put in some ARP bolts vs. use the ARP studs I have.
The headache of water jacket leak issues is not going to be worth it for my goals.
If I get leaks (w/ the bolts). I will try the veggie tabs. Also. Thanks!
