when i step on the brake pedal, the left side tail light works fine, but the right side turns the parking lights on instead of the brake lights. when my headlights are on and i step on the brake, the left side is again fine but the right side tuns off. i was messing around with them all day and cant figure it out. anyone else have this problem?

btw, my directional switch is broken, there is a black piece hanging there. i have to turn my directional on by a metal piece inside the column. i dont know if this has anything to do with it

 

my left side is screwy too, but not the same problem you have. I have a bad plug or a short in the wire somewhere. The inside left brake light/parking light (firebird lights) doesn't work at all. It has a brand new bulb and it doesn't turn on at all. The last bulb was fine but I replaced it thinking it would fix it. This isn't the same problem, but I thought I would share it anyway!

Sometimes the left brake light wont light up. Other times the left turn signal will stay on steady rather than blink (front and rear). I'm trying to figure out if the two are linked in anyway. Any ideas?

 

I had trouble with my right side turn signal when I first got my car, I had to take out the bulb and clean the inside of the plug. Worked fine after that
