Anyone got rksport(asm) and canton pan?

Doesn't look like my rksport headers will fit on the drivers side. Anyone get them to fit on a canton 242t pan? Is SLP the only shortie that'll work?

Re: Anyone got rksport(asm) and canton pan?

I have the Canton oil pan (242T) on my 95 Formula w/SLP single-cat (94-95 style) headers. On my car, the y-pipe that comes with the SLP headers would not fit. Even with the y-pipe resting on the bottom of the oil pan, the drivers side collector was still about one inch away from mating properly. It appears that the oil pan core that Canton uses to manufacture the 242T LT-1 pan is a little deeper than the stock LT-1 pan. I have modified the SLP y-pipe in order for it to fit. I don't know whether the AS&M headers will have the same problem or not. Just some food for thought...

They do fit the stock pan but mine had to be bent slightly because the collector ended up right on top of the pan. Now I have the canton pan with my new motor, and I dont know for sure yet but it looks like theres major clearance problems. So either I have to modify these headers, find a pan that works with a HV pump and fits the headers, or buy the slp's and modify the y-pipe.

see the part that jets out, the headers go straight down instead of to the front of the engine. Dont think it will clear but I will find out when mech takes a look at it.

Superdave,
What is your opinion on these RK-sport headers, is the craftsmanship good?
Do they appear to be the next best thing to full blown LT's?
How bout the coating?

I may be ordering some this week.
Thanks

I really dont know, I had them on for 10 miles and then my motor blew. If you use the stock pan they should work. I just dont like how they come straight down and then almost curl right into the pan. Even if I can get them to fit I think they'll be too close to the pan and heat up the oil. But then I've never heard anyone else complain about this.
