Anyone ever have their Posi break (not the gears)
I have an Auburn Pro Series Posi in my Moser 9 inch and it has been making some funny popping noises when turning corners, also on the highway the car will vibrate alot when the car is kinda in between accelerating and decelerating. I was wondering if these symptoms are inline with the posi taking a crap. I can still hear the gears whining slightly, so i don't think anything is wrong there. Can these things be rebuilt? what do ya think.

I broke the spider gears in my stock diff. The car "clanked" when I turned. Found 4 broken spider gear teeth.
Have you changed the oil or looked at it? What does it look like?
Edit: My car vibed as well - I later found out part of the vibe was caused by the driveshaft (took out the driveshaft ujoints and posi at the same time).
Don't think it can be rebuilt (80% sure).

I haven't checked the oil yet. I had it apart probably a year or so ago to replace the 3rd member gasket. Now the pinion seal is leaking a little so I hav to replace that as well. I will check out the driveshaft to see if its ballanced and the u joints are ok. Thanks guys.

Did you use Friction Modifier in the fluid? If not that could be the cause of the noise you are hearing when you turn..
As for the vibration..If you can move the pinion yoke up and down any at all the pinion bearings might be getting loose and need to be replaced..That can cause the pinion seal to start leaking all the sudden..That is my guess on the vibration..
