Anyone else have the same problems w/your hooker longtubes?

I am trying to get my hooker longtubes in and on the passanger side and I can't get the bolts in on the two "center" primaries, I can only get 1 out of the two bolts in. If I get one in, the other one wont go in. These headers are used so I know they were on an LT1 before. This is just driving my crazy, I have spent 4 hours... I know I need to enlarge the holes but I put the header in when the head was out of the car and it will not come out unless I take the head off. I think I partially ruined the threads on the 3rd bolt from crossthreading them but I guess they are kinda okay because I can take the other bolt out then put the 3rd bolt in and it is harder to turn than usual but it is still able to go in strait. I couldnt even get a tap started in the hole because of the primaries. Why in the hell couldn't hooker made some better measurements when drilling these holes.

My guess, is that maybe because they are used, they are warped a bit??? And therefore will not bolt on right???? Is there a way to contact the person you bought them from and ask if he had any problems like you are having?

Also, it seems that most people install from under the car. Try that, and you won't need to remove your head

Yes, they are used... You think my headers are ruined? I think the mounting surface is flat but I really dont know. What do you think is warped?

the number 4 bolt is the biyitch from hell. but I got mine in ok took almost three hours to put it in from the bottom, keep in mind though i had to lift the engine to clear the canton oil pan, then unbolt the engine mount bracket then get the bolts started. Then re-attach the bracket, lower the engine, put in the mount bolt. then tighten the header bolts, and place all the stage 8 locking hardware on. Whew!!!! I had to make a special wrench for the job. I cut down a 7/16 to about 4 inches long. worked great on the number 4 and number 6 bolt. Just start the bolts a little till you get them all started then tighten from the middle outwards.
