Anyone considering buying Brisk spark plugs?

Hey,
I read the article in GM Hightech performance and called the Company.
info@briskusa.com
They claim impressive HP gains from a sparkplug change alone. You can grab a set for $89 shipped. Has anyone else considered buying these.

Re: Anyone considering buying Brisk spark plugs?

I saw those in my GMHTP mag, they said a LS1 car gained like 4hp to the rear wheels by switching from NGK to Brisk. I looked into them and they are not only expensive but there are hard to get, the only place around is in TX I think.

I recently changed mine from accels to the NGK TR6IX and tightened the gap some and wow it feels alot better. They have only been in for a week but so far so good. Also I want to add I went to NGK with my engine specs and mods and those are what they recommended. I have heard alot of good stuff about them and their ability to set you up with the correct plug for your setup as far as heat range and gap specs for modified cars. So with all that I have to say I'm a NGK guy even tho they cost me 6.99 a plug

Sure.... on the mightly ls-1 Cleaning your wind shield off can net you an extra 4-5hp..

bt I don't see how a spark plug alone can gain you more hp... unless you had bad plugs to begin with.

This is a dead horse in the Lightning world...the same claims were made for the Lightning guys...more than a couple of guys had major problems with them.

Stick to your normal plugs...

Hey all,
thanks for the input. I guess I'll stick with my Autolite 103s

Unless you're a competitive racer looking for every last hp... don't be the 1st to try the latest "greatest" thing out there. Magazines are notorious for making claims that don't always add up. Some, more so than others.

I know tr5 and tr6 are available at our local speed shop. He even cuts a deal and only charges $11 for a set of 8. I'm not sure exactly about the part number you posted, i've never used those.

They are talking about the iridiums those do cost a lot more than the plain janes you bought, $11 for those is a good price most places are more like $1.75 apiece.
Iridium might offer a slight bit more power if the fine electrode allows better flame travel but orientation could play just as big a part what they will do is last longer which is also the only benifit platinum has. As long as a copper plug is the right heat range and not worn out there is little to no gain to be had in power from a different plug other materials can last longer and for some that will justify the cost. Companies want to make a buck and telling you to spend $6+ on a plug because it makes more power is just marketting. If a plug could make more power it would have to do so through increasing effiency, if there were a way that cheap and easy to make a signifigant impact on efficienct you can bet the OEMs would be all over it to get CAFE numbers up and sell more SUVs.

Re: Anyone considering buying Brisk spark plugs?

GMHTP had a nice fully forged 396 built for them that went an astonishing 117mph. The worst part is how great (read: fast) they thought it was .
