On the MAF cars, the IAT isn't used for much. Appears there may be a mysterious 3deg of timing that gets added only when IAT temps are low. To avoid problems with heat soak of the IAT sensor, it simply needs to be relocated toward the air filter area, away from the engine bay heat. Plugging the resistor into the IAT connector is one of those mystery mods... some people claim near miraculous HP increases, others have put it on the dyno and claim they lost power.

You need to understand the genesis of the mod.... the resistor value and spoof temperature are based on the programming for the 3rd Gen engines. Richening them up helped a bit on the power end. Many of the 3rd Gens were speed-density. The LT1 programming is already way too rich. You don't want to richen the A/F mixture. Richening the mixture causes the long term fuel corrections (BLM's) to pull fuel out in closed loop. When you go WOT, the PCM defaults to "128" on the BLM"s, since it was cutting fuel in closed loop. That causes the engnie to run even richer at WOT, than the already too rich 11.7:1 target A/F ratio that stock programming usually gives you.
