Any way to completely remove VATS???

I just bought a 1996 Z28 from a fellow board member who has installed an aftermarket alarm system in the vehicle. Everything on the car runs great except when starting it takes quite a few extra cranks before it finally fires up. I put it on a scanner an pulled code 1626 Anti-theft system: Fuel enable circuit. Is there a way I can delete this completely out of the PCM or is there some relay that I have to wire around? Thanks!

You can program it out in the pcm or have it done. Pretty common for the transplant crowd.

if the car actualy starts then that code must be a history code. clear it out and I bet it stays gone.

That means you bought a stolen car.

Hehe..just kidding... like they said above, the PCM can be programmed to eliminate it....or just keep it...as long as your key doesn't get dirty you probably won't notice it's there.
