Any trick to changing a fuel pump?

Ok. I know I'm already over my head when the task requires anything more than using a wrench, but this looks like it should be fairly simple.

I have a hatch cut on the back deck for access. There are a few little nuts which I have removed. Now I have a few metal lines going through the round cover plate. I can pull up easily on the cover and it comes up but I think I need to remove the lines because it comes up at an angle preventing the pump from coming out... Any suggestions?

You have to disconnect the lines.

They are under the section of panel that you didn't cut towards the driver's side.

If you look through the hole you cut you will see the connection.

One even has a connecting hose. I can see where they are connected and actually get to it. Hopefully I can figure out how these things come apart. The hatch is pretty wide.

Thanks.

what he said. It's a breeze once you get those disconnected. Connecting them back up is a different story.

The pump does not sit straight down in the hole, is towards the rear of the car. Oh and when you glue the pump back in the little deal it sits in I put the glue on and duct taped it to let it dry.
