Any tips on OVC taylor kit?
Any tips on OVC taylor kit?
Going in tomorrow to start start putting in my Jet-Hot LT headers. I have both manifolds out etc.. I'm ready to slip in the headers, but last time I was working on it.. I tried pulling off the passenger side wire boots from the opti. I didn't try for too long because I had to go.. but I had NO luck.. They were on tight. Any tricks to get them off?
I also figured that if getting the old wires off the opti is hard... what is putting them on going to be like
The taylor kit came with silicone.. will that make things a lot easier?
Lastly, any advice on cutting or routing the wires? Never done this before. Thanks!

if they are really that difficult you could run a razor along the opti boots since you wont be using them anymore, obvioulsy just be careful and do it in a few cuts so you dont go all the way thru
passenger side, i routed mine under the alternator and above the power steering, theres only 2 ways that you can route them over there and thats one of them
drivers side is self explanatory once you look at it
when putting the wires into the boots before crimping them, make sure they are in far enuf sp you get good contact
and its best to put one boot on each wire then mock each wire up one at a time, measuring for length, whatever length you think is good leave about another 4inches atleast onto it (for error) IMO, then check and double check, cut wire then crimp on the boot for the other end.....rinse and repeat
that silicone is for the wires when you go to slip them into the boots, you wouldnt be able to get them in without it, use it liberally

I ran my passenger side between the altenator bracket and the manifold. Either or. This may give you a better idea.

Like Simple said, silicone the wire to slip the boot in is a must. Lube that mug up.
