Sweet. Real world experience with something very close.

Like i said before, idle and driveablilty im not concerned with b/c i have seen this cam idle before in a car.

My question lies with power, and making sure i will not have to go past the 7k ECM limit.

When you say "power" I get that feeling that you're talking about peak numbers. Making 420rwhp and 330rwtq while that hp number sounds nice (and it would be fun to brag about it) the torque number consequently flat out sucks. There's more to going fast than just really fricking high peak hp numbers. Torque matters too, and so does the curve. If you want your car to be an absolute dog down lown then go for it, just be prepared to run 4.56 gears to keep the engine in the usable rpm range and for all that you'd be sacrificing I don't think you'd go any faster than someone with smaller cam and much more driveable car as a result.

Bigger is not always better

XE doesnt have a lobe with a 234 duration so i dunno how hes gonna pull that off. there is a 242 duration lobe but the lift with 1.6 is .576".... sure he said XE?

Power to me is area under the curve, not just peak.

I couldnt care what my peak hp/TQ numbers are, i just want to run mid-high 11s on stock bottom end. Most people need about 400 rwhp to hit that mark.

And the gearing isnt an issue, i already have some big *** gears, as i said like 300000000 times, lol.

Thank you trey. When you get 30+ years of racing experience you let me know. Tony Biscoff isnt someone to simply go against their advice.

I appriciate your input, which is what i asked for initially. But you arent the only one on this board. There are many other members who have opinions too, and i welcome their advice.

So far you and lost are against my cam, however kraest and lt1camaro guy dont seem to think its the owrst thing in the world.

If this thread is buggin you so much just stop reading it!

Jeez, all you want is an 11 sec pass? I think Ken95Z is doing that with a tiny **** hotcam.. I think on stock heads even. Good grief, you're going WAY OVERBOARD. Shoot.. I retract my suggestion.. go with the xe 224/230 with the high lift lobes, port your heads.. buy some slicks and say hello to an easy 11.7 pass

You're making this way too hard. You don't need to spin 3 million rpms to make an 11 sec pass. You don't need a big honkin' cam to make an 11 sec pass. You don't need 4.56 gears to make an 11 sec pass. You don't need.. ah forget it. If you don't get it by now forget it.

Call up a cam manufacturer and talk with them since you don't want to believe us... Trey likes cmbmotorsports (sp?) I've heard good things about them from others on the board too.. go ask them.

good night...

They have a 234 down below, but even still the lift numbers dont match up on any of them. Thanks for the link, ill have to get him to re-state what he said originally. I prolly made it up in my head, we went through many different possible combos, i was going crazy! lol.

yeah, their name is too Goddamn long-
I bet thier cars would be like .5 sec faster if the damn sticker with a bazillion letters didn't weight them down so much

they shortened it from www.combinationmotorsports.com to www.cmotorsports.com for lazy asses like us, and those of us who came up with creative spellings for Combination

they have like a 100 nick names now too

combo
cmotor
cmotorsports
combo motorsports
sam smiths ***** house
the list goes on and on, but one thing is for sure
their gothic logo owns

I wish they had a cool name, ohh well
faster w/bad name > slow with cool name (ie ricer shops)

My car runs ok with a baby cam and stockheads and bottomend. I shift at 6200. If I thought that I would run quicker with a big cam I'd have one in it. With the combo of stockheads,SLP2400,drag radials and 3.42 gears I ran 11.86. Now with Vig3200,stockheads,and QTP 11.42 116 with 1.49 shorttime. My car is on the light side but its not thief recovery mode. I have stock front seats, carpet, all plastic pieces, console, rollbar and 5 point harness. Sar2k ran 11's with stockheads, cam, and shortblock. Its not rocket science. Frank95z
