Any sensors that will shut the car off at a certain temp???

My car took a crap, it WILL not run once it gets to about 180 degrees, it wont start until it cools off, it runs and pulls hard all the way up the rpms until it gets hot(180) then it stalls and wont restart, my question is since it happened so sudden, can a sensor do that?

There is no sensor that commands the PCM to shut the car off at any certain temp. But what this kinda sounds like is trouble with that small sensor right beside the coil... looks like a domino. I guess when its going bad it will cut out at high temps which causes the coil to not supply any spark. Since its located practically right on the head, you can understand it gets quite hot! Maybe somebody else can back me up on this.

He is referring to the ignition module. It is mounted on the same bracket as the ingnition coil. This could be getting hot and them cutting out.
