Just got the car fixed, it was the part behind the opti the one that "holds" the opti that has a round thing in the middle, aparently the has had been leaking oil over there( is a car that I just bought for $3,300 )the replaced the all of it with a new opti also, man, GM parts are very expesive here in Puerto Rico, the opti an that metal base for $480 + 14 for other thing that I just don't know how to tell it in Englis, that stops the oil leak down there,$ 175 in labor

Glad you got it fixed..but the part they replaced... was technically was called the Opti.

 

In your (or their) terms, "opti and metal base"= opti to everyone else. The part that is not the "metal base" = cap and rotor.

Labor wasnt TOO bad..
Maybe you can get a dealer [Jason Cromer etc?]on the mainland to USPS[priority mail? etc] parts to you?
I used USPS Priority Mail from Hawaii once it was 2 DAYS Hawaii to NJ[not bad!]
Could save you a lot of $$ that way.. I think he gets 200 for your year opti..
Trick would be talkin someone into going to the Post Office rather then the usual UPS pickup..
You get UPS there too right?Still be a lot cheaper even via UPS I bet..

 

yp, we use the same US postal service, UPS etc..here, the parts here are way more expensive here

It was posible that the oil leak caused the problem?
