Also have had a glowing manifold affect as well. headers are on the way but they would not stop this.

Have you got the car tunned correctly? I saw a heak of a increase in power from mine. I added all the other goodies with it too though. 30lbs injectors, twin 58mm tb, Hooker SC LT's, and RR's got a local guy to tune it and went 12.94@112.3 for a best 1/4 time, best 1/8th was 3 tenths fast than that 1/8 th mile time. a cam alone isn't going to boost you that much but with the right accessories you can gain alot. As far as the cam install goes i didn't degree mine.

Did you get the car tuned yet? When I did my hotcam the car sucked gas, ran like crap, and was only .1 faster in the 1/4. After I got it tuned it was a night and day difference.

I would think the headers and a tune will give you the results you want. I personally don't see the stock manifold allowing that cam to exhaust fast enough...may atest for the glowing effect.

Stick in there, put those headers on, tune it and tell us what you think.

Question

Did you check the cam when you installed it? Could be way retarded which will drive the exhaust gas temps up. Seeing any knock retard??

all you need to do is line the dots straight up and down. a glowing manifold can be cause by improper valve adjustment or crossed plug wires.

I disagree.

You can line up the dots easily enough but how do you account for tolerance stacking in the timing assembly? I've seen stuff out as much as 8*.... that will cause an engine to run like a stone and you'd just be scratching your head as to why.

You check, that way you know where you're at.

Might be a stupid ? but what is.... and how do you degree a cam.?
Because my engine is not running like I think it should. I know I need a tune but could this help also?

that will cause an engine to run like a stone and you'd just be scratching your head as to why.
