Any guesses ?

The car turns over, but wont start. After a few turns, I will turn the key off and the car will diesel for a few seconds then die. If after a few minutes it will start to turn over, but I still have to hold the key, till it really catches.

It seems to happen when the car gets wet, and sits overnight.

This has happened 4 times now, twice in the past month, hense my concern.

Opti was replaced 25K ago, and shows no-other opti symptoms.

Sounds like moisture is getting into the opti.

my 94 z28 has done that twice now.... both times I had it sitting outside in the rain all day. The first time, I kept cranking it over and over and over and it would spit and sputter but not come even close to starting. I let it sit overnight and it started right up in the morning. The second time, I cranked it over for what seemed like eternity and probably after like 5 minutes (my poor starter!) it started and I just had to keep revving it to keep it running for a few seconds. Everyone I've asked says its probably the opti but I'm too cheap to replace it, and it's only happened twice.
