Any advise or experience welcome (modded LT1)

Ok, make this short and to the point.

Purchased 95 LT1 M6. Deffinitely not a factory freak. 14.2 at 98 or so with just a catback.

Did the CAI and suspension mods. Went 13.9 or so at 101.2

Installed SLP shorties and 1.6 RR. Went 13.6 at 106. Finally getting somewhere. These two mods really woke the car up.

LT4 Hotcam, CSI water pump, Accel ignition and Loudmouth with no cat. With a slipping clutch went 13.6 at 108 on a cool evening.

Replaced the clutch and went 13.4 at 107 on a hot evening (summer in Florida, hot and humid).

The car dyno'ed 330 rwhp and 336 rwtq on a 60 degree day (dynojet). PCMforless tuning with a totally flat 12.6 or so AFR. All quater mile passes on street tire with something like 2.2 or 2.3 60 foot times.

I was hopping for 13.0's at 110 or something. Maybe a better launch on a cool day might get me a little closer.

Any imput about these results. Is the stock TB becoming a restriction. I have a set of stock heads. Home port them and install them (need to save money for the other car in my sig)? This car is my daily driver/get me to work car. But I would like it to be a 12 sec car even on a hot day if possible without power adders.

Thanks

Lance

Dude you have a 12 sec car easily. You have to get those 60' times down, they are killing you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't this guy be seeing ideal A/F ratios of 13:0? That's what Bryan of pcmforless told me a few weeks ago (regarding a n/a 383), and I don't see why your car should be any different.

On a more positive note, your HP readings look pretty darn good for stock heads. Get yourself a set of ET streets and you should see 12's (12.6,12.7 I say, probably about the same MPH, maybe 1 mph more).

Good luck,
JR

If you get your 60ft down to a 1.8 you will be in the high 12's. Can you say nitto drags and if really want traction but aren't afraid of breakage get some MT ET STREETS.Just watch how you lauch.

Leave the TB alone. Get a set of better tires, but be prepared to break the rear end . Or have some head work done. Or both if the $$$ and interest are there.

I was going 13.2's on street tires with 2.3 60ft. times. I bought some et streets, and went 12.8 with a 1.98 60ft. I think with you having a 6 speed and being able to stall it off the line, you could run a mid 12, as long as you dont break anything. Hooking off the line makes a huge difference in your et.

You should be able to do better than 2.2 with a bone stock car with bone stock tires. Mabye you need to find a better track.
But your problem is definitly in the 60 foot. Tires, gears, and some suspention get that 60 foot to a 1.8 and youll see mid-high 12s.
