Another Power Windows question: Down but not Up?

Hmm having trouble w/ my Power Windows, but the thing is it rolls down w/o a hitch its just getting it to roll back up. If the motor was bad would it be bad both ways up/down or could I have a bad motor with it still able to go one way. I'm hoping its just the switch...$13 would be so much easier than $50 right now.

those window mechs take a ton of torque to crank that window back up. Last time i changed one, i tried to move the mech with my hand, ya know where the motor meets up, it don't happen. Its no wonder these motors die so quick, i think its a flaw in the window lift design rather than the motors. and where do you get them for 50 bucks??? I went to Autozone and paid 75 dollars, lifetime warranty. That warranty is awesome, taken back about 5 of em now.

Darn, I was hoping that wasn't the issue. Oh well looks like I'll be replacing the motor sometime this week.

Oh and blueirocz, I haven't found it here in San Diego for $50 yet but everyone on the board posts about getting them for $50. I guess not?

I wish I could do some manual windows...I hate my powerwindows. I just replaced the motors and they're still slow. So I went to shoeboxes website to "adjust" the dang thing and now it's worse. I also sprayed this stuff that was reccommended...no worky. When we took the window off track...the motor went up and down really fast. I even bought better motors that were suppose to be faster. Now I'm having to use the ac and it is taking off a ton of gas mileage Oh well, I still love her

put some dielectric grease on the rubber window stripping along the side and up on the roof so its easier to slide up and down.. Prolongs the life of the motor..

If it gets really bad trying using a ford thunder bird motor.

give me an email or call 2995767 when you want me to do it awad2000. Trying to pull in alittle extra for my project. Takes me about an hour or less to do.
Just got my "SLOW LT1" lisence plate coming so I have to make sure the cars "slow"

Some more advice.. when u put in the window, run the motor when its not hooked up to the rail. Make sure its not loud.. I got one, one time that was loud and i took it back.

My friend Bruce did uses the ford thunderbird window motor on his trans am.
