If you ordered a GM Opti from Summit, it should be the same thing thepartsladi sells. She supposedly carries authentic AC/Delco units.
I too am disappointed in Accel products. I bought an Accel distributer cap and rotor for my '96 GMC Vortec engine about a month ago to replace the original cap and rotor that had 108,000 miles on them. Last Friday, while driving the truck, it just quit running like I had turned the key off! After having it towed home and spending the day troubleshooting it (and replacing the coil and ICM, even though they tested OK according to my Haynes manual), in desperation I decided to just get a new cap and rotor from Advanced Auto Parts and try that. Success! The almost new Accel cap and rotor was the problem. I don't see anything obvious, and the Accel cap and rotor has less than 1,000 miles on them, but the engine will absolutely not run when they are installed. I called Jeg's, where I bought them, and they said to send them back for a refund.
I've never heard of a cap (or rotor) failing so completely. No misfire, no stumbling, the engine just died!

I finally installed my new GM opti and it fired right up! {with one minor problem with a loose plug that I streched out with the probe from my DVM} So the accel opti was junk but summit said they will give me a refund. I notice a leak in the rear yoke area it looks like oil is coming out between the pinion and the yoke . now that its running I gotta check that out
