The z06 dude missed 3rd hard,(it was his deployed friends car) I made fun of him for that...
I think he said 470hp not sure there was also a bmw cycle there the vette pulled him thru 4th then 120+ that bmw was gone, my buddy said it was the fastest production bike out right now. and that srt4 I think was having issues because 2/3 for me was ridiculous and believe it or not he blew the doors off that vette. I just talk him into racing from a dig and not 40+ rolls where he gets a little more traction

but back to the serious I can tell you I have blown up motors before and well if she let go at 6k I am pretty sure more then just the chain would have gone... I can here it has compression when I turn over the key and I hear no noise from the valve train. I guess Ill pull the cover off and check today.

I think a few Hyabusa and Ninja zx-14 riders might disagree with the idea that a BMW I the fastest bike right now....

Good luck with the tear down.....

When my opti died the engine just cut off, like the key was turned off, at highway speed. It was due to the bearing failing, which melted the rotor. I think you have an opti problem. Since it sounds like you were running the car hard when it failed, the coolant loss could be from heat soak and possibly a bad radiator cap. I think you are worrying too much about an oil pressure problem. I would just get the car running first.

You know there was a guy at the car show that night who was saying something like the optis can only take x rpm... blah blah he totally jinxed me...
What really irks me is I had a 97 that I put over 95k on without a single problem leaving me on the side of the road... and well I was way harder on that car plus she had allot of mods on her. I will update after opti swap...

Wow. That one died hard, lol. And yes, they're fun to get to. Before I changed mine, if anyone had told me changing the distributor was a 7-10 hour job all told, I would have never believed it.

Re: another no start condition

YUP YUP.... full oil pressure no knocking... she purrs like the cat she is.... Blast ye OPTI ROTORS!

Ok so I had 3 optis around here one off my spare motor and one off my parts car and they both had wear on them, one had the wear from the cover flexing problem and the other had the center almost warn thru, my guess is the parts car did not run because of the opti.... and the spare motor maybe the same as everything looks rebuilt on them both...

Hey thank you for all the input and keeping me from tearing out the motor, I enjoy actually every repair as I keep learning more and more about the car.
