Another 847 record....
Re: Another 847 record....
It's great to hear this good stuff for the GM/Crane hardware. I had a
230/240 cam in my 68 GTO and loved it, and that is with 400 cubes.
It would have been nice to stick in an 847 but I need a daily driver for
rush hour traffic, hence the Crane 227.
Thanks for the info atljar. I still enjoy watching your 11 second
video.

Re: Another 847 record....
Dang, lost the record...at least you had it for quite a while Atljar! I agree on revving these things high. Mine peaked at 5800, and I figured a 6200 rev limit would be suffice. No sir E. That thing wants to REV. It only went 12.8 @ 110 with a 2.0 60' shifting at 6000. I raced a guy (I know its not a timeslip - haven't made it back yet) who runs around 110 and pulled about a car on him shifting at 6000. Raced again, shifting around 6700 and pulled an INSANE amount. I think I might slick it up and pray the rear doesn't go at the local F/Y body shootout. Pray for the measly 10 bolt!

My friend Mike put down 369RWHP 366RWTQ with a Comp 306 and stock longblock. Full bolt-on car with Hooker LTs and 4" Exhaust. Power went through a M6, aluminum driveshaft and 12-bolt with a spool. He recently added an electric water pump and a Holley 58mm, but hasn't been back on the dyno so the numbers should be a bit higher.

Could low 11's be possible?????

What valve springs are you going to be running?
Re: Another 847 record....
man, you guys are making me jealous...im runing 11:1 comp, xe 236 with ported heads, and made 313rwhp at 5300 ...my stock lifters started collapsing (at least thats what ive been told is happening with the xe236's aggresive ramp angles) i still wanted more than 313 though...also has long tubes, true duals, dynaspark dist, 28# injectors, 1.6 RR, all those goodies...still through stock 48mm TB though...custom tuning, showing knock right at 5300 where it lost 90 rwhp before 5400 ...i pulled timing all the way to 28* total advance, and it was still pulling timing...im putting in the new lifters this week though, so we will see what happens
a/f was no lower than 11.5 and no higher than 13 the whole run
