Annoying

Ok, this sounds stupid in my head to, but what the he**.
Since I bought the car, everytime either door is opened the little dinger just goes and goes. Now, I wouldn't mind if it did it when the lights were on or the key was in, but that's a different noise.
Anyway, this is just really annoying and I'm wondering if it's a 93-94 thing or if I can do something about it?

I know mine only does it if the keys are left in the ignition, but it doesnt do it if I just open the door. Only time it does it is if I forget the lights on or forget the keys in the ignition.

OK let me get this right. You want to stop the noise with the door open, or did you want to change it to match the other noise if the lights are on? If you want to stop the noise completely just look inside where the door hinge area and you should see a little button I think. Throw some duct tape over it to keep it in!

Yes, the button is there. I would really rather fix it than jury rig it.
Ok, ANY time the door is open it dings.
It dings differently when the keys are in or lights are on.
I want to eliminate the first one!!!
thanks for any help, guys.

OK not really sure why it is dinging without the key in there. But, if it is suposed to do that and you want to eliminate it, with out really jury rigging it. Then I might find out if it is a normally opened or normally closed switch, then either disconect or conect the wires directly to stop the noise. Or, see if anyone knows why it is doing it without the key in there, I don't think it should.
