Aluminum Hub or Steel Hub.

Besides weight difference, what else would benefit one over the other?

Not aware of an aluminum hub out on the market; there are aluminum under drive pulleys, but the stock steel balancer is still used (they piggyback each other) so there is no weight savings.

ATI offers an aluminum LT1 hub, saves 1.5lbs over their steel hub which I believe is already lighter than the stocker.

ROTATING weight savings means much more than weight savings, that said the further from center the rotational mass is the more is gained by reducing it. Since the damper hub is such a small diameter I am not sure whether that weight reduction would have a measurable effect on a street car's performance. It is on my wish list though.

Dwayne is D.N.O. (dead nuts on). It's ATI that offers the aluminum hub with their Super Damper. I just sold one to an Impala SS owner who is building a 396LT1. Very noticably lighter.
