Alternator header bolt???

Is this the stud with the nut in the middle and a black plastic donut thing? I tried to to put this in both ways and it doesnt want to go without threading the head. How does it go on?Anyone try any other way of doing this?

Do I even have the right part in the explaination above?

Thanks!

it would help to have a bit more background here...are you in the middle of a header install or something that you would have taken multiple bolts/studs out, and are trying to find the right one?

The stud on the passengers side that holds the alternator bracket should consist of the stud, bracket, a spacer and I believe one more nut to hold the bracket in place. Personally on my install I left that whole bracket off, figuring its still held at 3 points which should be fine. I haven't thrown a belt yet...

You'll be fine leaving it off. There is still 3 bolts holding it on.
