alternator cut my AC line!!

So when i pulled out to my apartment yesterday i heard a LOUD hissing noise coming from under the hood so i opened it up and noticed that my alternator had dug into my AC line and put a hole in it!damn! pretty sure this may have happened because i did do a couple of sliding turns while driving, but ive done them before and this never happened??? Think it might have something to do with me putting the STB on the car...when i was going around the turns, the STB held the chasis tighter while the motor moved and chasis didnt, making it cut into my hose....well, was just curious if this had ever happened to anyone else? the new AC line is going to cost me more than the damn STB,that sux 2

Know anybody that TIG welds aluminum? Or, a shop would probably do it for $25 or so. If the repair area is within about 6" of the rubber hose, they will need a wet rag or ice to keep from overheating the hose crimp.

That entire hose assembly will need to be replaced. I had the A/C compressor wheel cut into the lower rubber hose on both of my cars at one point. It's an easy fix though, and the hard line/rubber hose assembly is only about $40 IIRC.

yea, i pretty much figured i would have to just get a new one. Especially after LOTs of duck tape did nothing i knew it wouldnt fix it but it was embarrasingly loud so it quieted it down until all the air escaped anyways.
by the way whats IRCC?
