almost stock LT1 runs 12.2 in GM high tech
The cover is extremely misleading. A stone stock car, to me, is the exact way it left the factory, right down to the paper air filter. Once you do anything to it, it's been modded and no longer stock. Especially with some of that guys mods, headers, TC. Its hould have been titled bolt on car goes 12.2. Impressive number nonetheless, faster than my cammed LT1 goes.
I don't remember any LT1's coming with SLP headers...."stock" The suspension, gears and other mods are one thing but to say it's a "stone stock" LT1 it would still have to be running stock exhaust manifolds for me to consider it stock. Again, I'm not knocking what the guys did with his car, those are amazing times for his mods. It's just not "stone stock"
We do have a bolt-on 11 second LT1 on the board and it is Sar2K and the only thing he has more than that guy is 1.7 roller rockers which is considered by many a bolt on. He also has both original driver and passenger seats and weighs 3500lbs. He ran 11.94@111mph with a 1.53 60'.
