Air Pump Fitting

I know there are so many different threads on this subject and there are actually TOO many to look at. I am just wondering what I can do to fill in the hole for my AIR fitting on my Pacesetter LT's. I am thinking about removing it pretty soon because it is just in the way. Will it throw any codes or anything on a 94? Anything else need to be plugged up besides the hole in the headers?

Re: Air Pump Fitting

I know on my STOCK manifolds I used a m22 or some **** drain plug, the same drain plug used in the dodge cummings diesels.

Re: Air Pump Fitting

Yea but I don't think the stock manifolds and the headers will have the same size hole but I could be wrong...

Re: Air Pump Fitting

On my 94 The M22 drain plug was the right size for my fittings on my LT's. They run about $7-10 at Napa , but don't expect they will have them in stock might have to order. Thats what I ended up doing.

Re: Air Pump Fitting

Every time I go into napa, the rejects who work there can't find numbers for the parts I need. It took 3 visits and 3 days of no camaro to finally get the part number for a drain plug to fit the air fitting.

So here it is in case they can't understand why you want a bolt that isnt OE equipment on your car.

Napa part # 704-1048

it's made by balkamp.

I have pacesetter LTs and the M22 bolt fits perfectly in them. I also bolted it in the old stock manifold and it fit fine.

Re: Air Pump Fitting

I've come to find autozone has the same size m22 x 1.5 plugs for half the price of napa.

The head of the plug will be a 3/8th wrench square. just use an extention with no socket. (like the rear end fill plug)

Re: Air Pump Fitting

give part numbers. most parts counter guys won't or can't find em. i visited over 10 auto parts stores trying to find the plugs, i just harassed napa because everyone on here said they had 'em.

Re: Air Pump Fitting

I know that this is for a 94, and also for pacesetter LT's, but I just wanted to throw my experiance with this out there...
I bought the M22 drain plugs before I tried to remove my air pump, I removed everything on a thursday night (2 weeks ago), I went to put the plugs in and they were wwaaayy too big!!! Friday and Saterday was filled with running to every parts store in my area including everyone from the big chains to the little guys, I even tried Home Depot, I took the fittings that I removed from the exhaust to have them matched up... NO luck what so ever!

I finnally went to my local speed shop and within a few minutes of talking to them, telling him what I had tried (it was just a bit bigger then the 1/2 plug I got from home depot to try), and him looking at the fittings.. He quickly pulled a -8 AN fitting off the wall and screwed the fitting from my exhaust into it, PERFECT FIT! I bought 2 -8 AN plugs for about $7 each and they worked perfectly...

I just wanted to put this out there, just in case somone with a 95 is looking for this info, and they don't need to spend 2 days searching for the plugs!!

Re: Air Pump Fitting

I just blocked off the air fittings on the pacesetters with caps....I brought the header (before I installed them) to a refrigeration place (blasco) and I got two caps for $2.50, put some rtv on them and screwed them right on...
These are headers for a 96-97 lt1, I believe the size was 5/8" tapered
