Took me some time to complete, but its done. Now comes the fun part: tuning. I have to calibrate the new maf.

That is awesome! Great fab work, so is that the newer GM MAF then? Let us know how it works! Does this clear with a stock Z28 hood?

Re: Air intake design for high hp LTx

I have no experience with the card type MAF but I know on the standard LT1 one I had a short cone filter with the inverted cone in the end of it mounted to the MAF and that made for some funky airflow readings, simply covering the inner cone resolved it but was a mild restriction. Ended up solving it by putting a y-pipe on and dual filters but the reason this solved the problem is it added several inches of straight pipe before the MAF which lets the airflow balance across the whole cross section. Turns or obstructions etc right before the MAF can lead to the airflow being uneven across the cross section and make readings unstable.

Hopefully you don't have an issue but at least if you do hopefully my experience helps you identify and resolve it a little easier than I did.

Thanks for your comments Dwayne. I was aware of the possible problems due to the uneven shape of the duct. I did install a honeycomb that is supposed to minimize the uneven readings:

Worst case scenario would end up in running speed density without a MAF, wich is not a bad thing either.
