Air Foil or something else?

I just installed an air foil on my 96 z28, but about a day later, the service engine soon light came on, and it idles a lot more rough. The service engine soon light is because the fuel is too lean, so I'm going to try and take the air foil off to see if that fixes the problem. So do I need a better fuel pump or what? Thanks

Re: Air Foil or something else?

i couldn't imagine a airfoil causing a SES light and a rough idle. I would scan it and see if it is pulling any codes. It would be easier to go from there with more info.

Check your connections on your MAF sensor, and clean its connector, make sure the IAT is properly inserted, and your Elbow is in place right. The Air Foil should not cause your car to have those issues you're having.

Actually if you buy the ****ty *** air foils w/ out the holes in the center for the air sensors I could see it throwing a code for some reason.

Re: Air Foil or something else?

Take a small round file and file the hole on the bottom larger.

perhaps your elbow wasn't put back on good and air is entering the intake after the maf.

Make sure that there is a hole for the engine to breathe through when the throttle plates are closed.

I found on mine the previous owner took the elbow off and upon reinstall actuall made the bottom fold into the t/body but still went on.

I agree; you'd be surprised how easy it is to "fold under" the throttle body w/your elbow..
And any air entering after the MAF = bad news
