Air Foil = Electrical Problems!! Why??

I installed an airfoil into my car but as soon as I did this It started to get strange electrical problems. The car would actually shut off while I was going 100kph, then it would start again. I know I installed it correct. I did, however, have to manufacture my own little 'stud' to hold the bolt in place. Why would this cause electrical problems. I removed it and they went away!!!! Any ideas as to how I can avoid the problem and still run the foil?!
Thanks!

Buy Holley's airfoil..a documented 5.8 RWHP and a clip on design..guaranteed to work

There's no reason you should get any electrical problems with an airfoil. The only time I can think of when my car ran really sloppy after the air foil was put in, was when I didn't have the intake elbow all the way on the throttle body. This mean unmetered air was entering the motor, causing a crappy idle and weird throttle response.

there is no reason whatsoever that it would cause any electrical problem. Maybe it was causing an air leak around your intake elbow.

I agree with the last two posts--I recently installed a TPI airfoil that actually just sits in my intake bellow and have had no problems. Have you tried reinstalling it again?
