Air Filter on throttle body / ducting

I'm trying to find an air filter that will clamp on the throttle body. I got the K&N RC-5050 (took a month because of problems w/ K&n) and it doesn't clear the thermostat housing even though they said it would work on the LT1. Will the RC-5000 clear? The filter can't be any larger than where it clamps on the engine.

Or what do you use for hose that'll clamp on the throttle body oval opening? Maybe I can extend it or something...

Are you going to bypass the MAF somehow?

You can try using the Fernco 3" x 3" sewer pipe connector as an extension.... part # 1056-33, $5.00 including the 2 stainless clamps, in the plastic pipe department of your local Home Depot or other hardware store.

Injunner,

That looks Bad Boy! How do you keep the engine bay so clean?

Simple..... I only drive it a 1/4-mile at a time, every once in a while....

The full picture.....

Is the Home Depot sewer connector the part on your air filter side? Whats the part on your throttle body side?

I ended up doing a cold air type setup, and I'll use the MAF now. I'll still need a connector though.

The Fernco connector is the piece that slips over the throttle body. The piece between the airbox and the Fernco is a 3" hard silicon hose section, used as a filler piece for the deleted MAF. (engine runs speed-density on a MoTeC M48Pro)
