Air Filter fell off!! Drove without it for some time, BAD?!?!

hey guys,
i'm really scared right now because i wanted to clean my K&N Air Filter on my 96 Z28 and i noticed that my Air Filter wasn't there any more, i don't know how long i drove without it, but the filter looked really clean on the inside. I noticed that the car isn't pulling as strong from lower rpms and is stuttering up top. I did a few mods: K&N Filter, B&M Shifter, HPP III, 52mm TB, Flowmaster 40 series, Granatelli MAF. I'm going to dyno the car tomorrow to see what's going on with the car, but do you guys think that the engine is badly damaged??
thank you

Where did u drive? If you drove on like dirt roads or in the rain or through mud u screwed. but If the roads were pretty clean then your fine. But get that thing back on there

That's because none of the dirt stuck to the filter housing, and it's all inside your engine.

If the damage is done, the damage is done, no going back now. Just put a filter on it and hope for the best. Start putting some money aside now each paycheck for a rebuild when the time comes.
