How often do you guys clean your k&n air filters. I have the SLP cai which has the same thing as k&n filters. I have about 17,000miles on them now. I was just wondering if its time for me to clean them or not. Thanks.

 

I do mine every 6 months or so. Pop it in the washing machine with no detergent, air dry it, and resoak it in oil.

 

I'd do that "pop in the washer" once and wifey would put knots on my head faster than I could rub them

k&n recommends check at 30,000 miles and in normal conditions they recommend to clean it once every 50,000.

Id trust k&n, not saying anyone elses opinion is bad but k&n designed the thing for performance.
