air bag removal

What is required in removing both the airbags, well the whole steering wheel, and the passenger airbag? And also where is the module at?

I am getting a cage and 5points and dont need them anymore and feel like making $400 or $500 off them on ebay.

I have not removed mine but I know the driver side is much easier to remove than the passenger side. I think there are four screws behind the air bag on the wheel holding that section on. The passenger side is obviously in that compartment on the dash but the dash is one piece and that whole panel needs to be removed to access it, another brilliant cost savings idea from GM If you blow your pass side air bag the whole dash needs to be replaced as well. I'm pretty sure the large control module under the console is for the air bags. Again, I've never attempted to remove any of these, there are precautions that need to be taken before disconnecting anything. I'm sure someone that has removed them will chime in.

FWIW, you probably won't be able to sell them for even $200.

Well turns out for one that you cannot get an aftermarket steering wheel for our cars unless you get it custom installed since Grant does not make an installation kit for any car equipped with airbags. Also if you look on ebay the drivers and passenger bags are going for at least $400. I wanted to just remove the whole wheel thinking I would make a little more money like that, but dont see that happening. Anyone else know if you for sure have to take the whole dash off to get the passenger bag out?

Interesting how this one went for $250....

Also equally interesting is how nobody bought this one at a starting bid of $179...

Btw, I've seen them go as low as $120 for the whole setup. LS1s are more expensive but LT1s... good luck.

Oh, I just re-read your question again.... and speaking of not being able to put an aftermarket steering wheel on our cars... here's a picture of my steering wheel and here's another one.

Yes... you just buy the Grant install kit for the 3rd Gens - # 3196..... bolts right up. Looks better if you replace the rubber "boot" in the kit with a "billet" spacer though.

I wasnt being cocky madwolf. I just looked on ebay at "camaro airbags" and it brought up about 10 or so auctions that all say at least $400, I havent followed one in particular to see how much it would go for, but I just figured if there were that many listed for that price that thats how much you could get, guess its not really worth it then.
