I made a quick 10 second video last night of my car idleing. The car has Ai LT1 full port heads and a custom ground nitrous cam (similar to a CC306 with more LSA). The car is idleing at 1000rpm and has Jet Hot long tubes, Summit Universal X-pipe and Dynomax bullet mufflers dumping before the axle.

It is pretty loud as it sits, so I will probably switch mufflers (like others told me I would need to do). It also sounds way more aggresive with the current exhaust. It does sounds bad *** though, no arguments about that. It also picked up a bunch of power over my old flowmaster/crush bent setup.

so is that sound clip not yours? You said you made a 10 sec video but then you said just an example of what another one sounds like. Where's your video?

 

The clip is of Sean's car. He meant that his car was another example of what a h/c car sounded like. I heard the audio, but the video portion is either really dark or not there.

 

Sounds great Sean. I'm glad to see you got rid of the other setup. You will
probably find that you need to go over or under the axle all the way to the
back to quiet things down. I tried the flowmaster race mufflers for about 3
weeks and could not stand it. It's the constant droning that drove me nuts.
There are lots of options if you want to make it quieter. Like I said at the
dyno, shoot me a PM if you want me to hook you up with the Downey shop.

 

The video was just at night. I'll make a daytime one when I get a chance. The post is just to show people what another setup sounds like. It's what my car sounds like for people curious what an Ai car with a similar cam will sound like.

 

I have moroso sprial bullets on my car basically bolted to the collectors(dynatech LT's) and they are great, not to loud at cruise and no drone but sound like an open header when WOT, I would recommed them over a open bullet, they look just like a bullet but the inside looks like a grain auger with a 1.5" hole through it. Just another option.

I like the exhaust, but it is pretty low still. I have to get it tucked up better and switch to different mufflers, but I'm happy with the performance change.

With the old exhaust pre tuning I had trouble lighting the tires up in second gear (only when I dumped it). First was useless before the swap and tune, but now second is pretty useless. I can spin the 315 nittos at 40-45 now. Stock suspension, but if I stab it (haven't tried dumping the clutch) in second the tires just spin for a second.

But here are a couple of day videos where you can see it start up and see the Summit X pipe, and bullets. And for some reason the car looks Teal, but it's really Quazar (darker) Blue.
