My car hits rev limiter before is shifts out of first gear.

95 Z, A4. If I floor it in drive it revs to about 6000 and hits the rev limiter before it will shift out of first gear. Any cheap/simple cure for this.

does it have stock rear end/gears? mine did that when the pcm wasn't set for the right gears...

As far as I know it has stock 2.73s.

yeah either ur pcm is screwed up or ur tranny is slipping

This sounds corny, but replace the coil wire. Its only 17 or 18 bucks and if it doesn't work, at least you have a new coil wire. Thats what was making mine do it, when I had the auto and 2.73s....weird stuff.
