AFR quesion

I need some advise on what heads and cam setup to get for my 97 Z28 6 speed. I want AFR heads, which ones should i go with and what cam would give me a lopey idle without having to keep on the gas to keep it running. something that will put me in the 400+ hp range. I have full length headers and an underdrive pulley.

Re: AFR quesion

You have a lot more research to do. The jump to AFR heads without looking at what the stockers can do is just one reason for that. On the lopey idle without having to keep your foot on it. Not an issue with even massive cams IF you know what the hell you are doing and get the pcm reprogrammed correctly. A cam/header/programming/CAI should be able to get you 400flywheel hp.

Port your stock heads and add 2.0 valves.Port the intake, get a 58MM TB and a K&N CAI.Get .026 head gaskets. Get a cam of your choice with 224/230@50 on a 108+4 with right around .600 lift. Get 36lb injectors and a Racetronics 255 fuel pump. Get 1-3/4 long tubes with 3-1/2 collectors and a 3-1/2 Y pipe and 4" out the back.
12 bolt rear with 4.10 a good tach and some DR's and "let er rip tater chip"
"O" better get a drive shaft with that and maybe a 200 shot of N2O and hang on.
