AFR Head & Stock Accessory Bracket

Just dropped in my rebuilt LT stroker motor with AFR 210 Competiton LT4 heads over the weekend.

I have a major clearance issue with my alternator trying to clear the morosso valve covers needed for the jesel rockers inside these heads. Looks like I need to cop about 1' off the back of the alternator to clear the valve covers. Not sure If anyone has run into a similar issue.

This is a 96' Impala and the accessory bracket holds the alternator, p. steering pump, AC compressor, etc...... I would post pics but do not have attachment privelages.

Thanks for all replies

Re: AFR Head & Stock Accessory Bracket

Yes, I have the same valvecovers but on an F-bod with accessories (not sure how diff the F-bod and immpys are there) but I just took the alternator apart and clearanced the rear of the cover and laid some thin rubber adhesive backed insulation on the valvecover for peace of mind. But the alt has been running for about 5 years with no probs.

My accessory holes lined up fine with the factory brackets.
