Afew questions...

I just have afew random questions. I was reading that A.I.R pump thread and someone said all it does is heat up the cat. If i was to take it off and have it deleted from my computer would i still pass emissions? Same for my EGR, if i deleted it would i pass?

Also, i posted this in drivetrain and didnt get much of a response. Anytime my clutch is out their is a rattleing noise comming from the bellhousing. I was thinking its the TO bearing but want to be sure before i pull the trans. Last question, i have 2.73 gears now, how much of a difference will i see if i went with some 3.73's? On dry pavement the car barley spins and has good traction on street tires. How much will that change with 3.73?

Sorry for the stupid questions, i just want to be sure about afew things.

Re: Afew questions...

You will notice a big difference going to 3.73, most of the manual guys go with 4.11 though. The rattle is probably the pilot bearing, could also be the throwout.....

Re: Afew questions...

If your TO bearing goes out you won't be going much further. It may also be your pilot bearing. If that is the case replace it with a bushing. This is just my opinion since I have not seen the car in person so take it for what it's worth. I also am in need of 3.73's, it will make a BIG differance.

If the TO or pilot bearing are bad will it cause any damage to anything?

LT4 springs would be maxed out on a 305 with 1.6 RRs, you need something with more clearance (and pressure imo)
