Adjusting Valves

okay so ive just finished rebuilding the motor in my 95 z28 its now bored 30 over heads redone and i kept the original springs on the heads because the guy at the machine shop said it would be alright with the amount of lift on our cam witch is .495 gm hot cam not the kit and im wondering if im setting the valves wrong or what because im getting some odd noise and it dosent got much power to the peddle so my question is, is there a certain way i should set the valves with my setup or does anyone have this setup and if so could they tell me how they set theres.

you should change those springs right away, they are barely ok with the stock cam let alone anything else

I asked the same question when I was about to adjust mine. JAKEJR replied with a long detailed way of doing the E/O I/C method and thats what I did to get it fired up, then I readjusted them once it was running just to make sure. I would copy and paste but its long, so here is a link to his post. https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=13
It really was easy to do and didn't really take all that long either.

about those springs, I would replaces them too. Im pretty sure that even the springs that come in the hotcam kit are pushing it for that cam
