adjusting valve lash, TDC help

My crank hub has been off several times, and I can't go by the marker on that.

I'm using shoebox's page as a guide:

http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#adjust_valves

My problem is, there are 2 valves per cylinder, which one is the intake and which one is the exhaust???

THanks.

Cylinder Heads pn LT1's have valves arranged ExIn InEx ExIn InEx
ie extreme 2 valves & centre 2 valves are exhausts

See where the valves line up with the exhaust ports (manifold) those are the exhaust ports, the rest are intakes.

Re: adjusting valve lash, TDC help

Use method 3, then the hub doesn't matter. You watch the pushrod/lifter/spring movements.
