Adjusting IAC counts..

My IAC used to sit around 25-27 fully warm before I did the heads/cam, and now it is sitting around 50-55 fully warm. It still idles alright (xe 224/230 112lsa), and blms are split maybe 3-5 at any given time, so it's not really much of a problem. No intake leaks at all, and the o2's are reading fine. I've posted on other sites and noone knows, and is this even a big deal?

Just a thought and Iam no expert, have you tryed adjusting the throttle stop screw ? Or remove throttle body and clean IAC and throttle body.

Since you did heads/cam, can we assume you had the PCM reprogrammed? What did they set the target idle speed at? If its above the stock idle setting, the IAC motor is going to have to open more to keep the higher idle speed. And, in general, with a cam like that, the IAC is going to open more to hold the idle. You can't expect a retuned PCM in a heads/cam car to behave the same as a stocker.

the throttle body is real clean, so i see no problems there. I just finished rebuilding the entire engine, so everything should be in good order. The idle is set to 950. I'm going to up that to 1000-1050 though, because it seemed to idle a little better when it was up there. I'm actually trying my hand at the tuning, and so far it's been ok since I've had a few hotcam tunes, a cc305 tune, and some wild heads/cam tunes to look at.

Thanks for the help.
