I don't have any hard evidence. But my engine builder and the shop that did my SHortblock didnt recommend them I really didnt ask to many questions they just basically said they didnt like them or even trust them.

Well this post is a few days old but here is what I am going through installing the 1.65 roller rockers from Harland Sharp.

I have LE LT1 heads milled 0.010 w/ felpro gaskets, Ferrea 6161/6165 valves, and com cams 987 springs, and stock 7.200" pushrods.

First, they are 3/8 NSA which are there narrow bodies made to fit under stock covers. They made the geometty way off plus they bottomed out on the studs.
To correct this I needed to add 0.080 lash caps and use 7.150" pushrods. Doing this still required clearnacing the rocker arm at the bottom of the fulcrum. It only rubbed the tapered part of the APR studs by a min. amount. Around 0.005 had to be removed. It was just stratching the black color off the studs is all. The clearnance from the retainer to the rocker body is 0.017" when at the base circle. The rocker specs call for 1.450" max springs and the 987's are 1.430" I believe so that was pretty much right on.

I had the option to go back to 7.200" pushrods to remedy the stud interference but that will move the contact pattern on the valve about 0.030". I rather take a pubic hair off the rocker body then have less than perfect geometry. The swipe is about 3/16"--just guessing on that. That's about what it looked like after doing the marker test on the valve stem.

Anyway, it's doable. I think it all comes down to all the different part combinations you have. If you want to work on the edge of things, you will almost always run into problems like this. I would do it again for sure though.

Thanks for the info.
But I've decided to dish the 1.7 RR idea and just get a Lloyd Elliot LE2 cam instead.

Thanks

Tim

i know that it's not on topic anymore but i can tell u a little about lope. lope is not determined by LSA. lope is determined by valve overlap. you can figure that out by taking the intake/exhaust and lsa numbers.

to find valve overlap just take the intake and subtract the LSA. the larger the valve overlap, the more "lope" there is. only if the cam has the same intake and exhaust numbers does a smaller lsa mean more lope.

How can you have an opinion like that without having any experience with them? I ask because i have a set on my car and they are quality pieces. i havent had to get a different length pushrod and they have been on for about 5,000 miles without any problems so far. hearing negative things then deciding something is junk without trying it out for youreself is an opinion that means nothing.......
