Just replaced my optiapark in my 94 TA after 85000 miles. The Distributor was arcing and the bearing was rusting. I used the accel 300 ignition with it for about 40000 miles and I am debating whether to install the accel again or just go with the stock ignition. Has anyone experienced rapid distributor damage with the Accel?

 

I ran an msd 6A for 2 years on my opti that att he time was 8 years old and to this day dont have a prob.

 

I have an Accel 300+ since '99; 54,000 miles.... My OPTI went out last year at 123,000 miles...

I changed out everything(coil, ICM, wires,etc...) and disconnected the Accel, since I only saw a small MPG over stock.. No real HP gains, but I did like the rev control and size of the unit..

I dont think the Accel caused the OPTI going out, but more of normal wearing out and moisture...

 

I've been running an Accel 300 for 75,000 miles... same opti.
