AC Problems

On my Z, beside my ac not working (im not sure why), my blower makes a weird noise when i turn on the ac/defroster. It actually sounds kind of like if a kid put a baseball card in the spokes of his bike.... kinda like a clicking/rubbing noise. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this and if so, what the hell is it? It still blows fine, but would i need a new blower to fix the problem?

Also what normally is the problem when AC's stop working on early 4th gen fbody cars? Compressor, evap, condensor... ect...? Thanks in advance.

Re: AC Problems

The PCM monitors the pressure in the AC system; if this pressure is below a minimum valve, the PCM will not command the AC compressor to turn on. Most common cause is a leak in your system. A scan tool like Diacom can read your AC pressure.

Re: AC Problems

my 96 monte carlo did that last summer. i pulled the fan and a bunch of leaves and junk was in there. have you ever had it off? if you don't get a bolt in right and it falls out it will cause it to sag a little and make a weird noise also
